Death Valley. The foreboding name gives this vast, majestic wonderland a stigma that serves to keep the traveler prepared, but probably does the place's reputation a disservice. Like most deserts, Death Valley is filled with life in many of its most well designed forms, life created for sustainable and extraordinary efficiency living in extreme environments.
But the land itself is far more impressive than any life form could be here. It is in these vast expanses of desert wilderness that the earth bares its true self in ways seldom seen anywhere else. Layer upon layer of vivid mineral patterns and colors are stacked like beautiful wedding cakes made by the master baker, and scattered throughout this vast landscape for the explorer to discover.
Voluptuous sand dunes swirl and morph in the breeze like gargantuan swirls of delicious frozen yogurt or peanut soft-serve ice cream.
The rising and setting sun paints the day here with surreal colors and majestic light better than the best world's painters can conjure.
